Tuna Patties

Homemade Tuna Patties - it's as easy as convincing a cat to ignore a laser pointer – practically impossible to mess up. I figured if I can make these, literally anyone can. So, grab your apron, or don't, because who actually wears those anymore?

First off, you're going to need a can of white tuna. Yes, the stuff that looks like it's been pre-chewed by a toddler. Trust me, it gets better. Then, you'll need a small yellow onion - because apparently, the color matters in the onion world. You'll also need some bread crumbs (for that crunch), half a squeezed lemon (watch out for those pesky seeds), mayo (because everything's better with mayo), two eggs, butter, and a bunch of spices to trick your taste buds into thinking there's more going on here than there actually is. Oh, and don't forget the chives, because we're fancy like that.

Here's how I made it: In a mixing bowl, throw in the tuna, chopped onions, and all those spices. It's like a spa day for the tuna, but with garlic powder and paprika. Then, add the lemon juice, mayo, eggs, and bread crumbs to bind your creation like a love potion. Next, heat some butter and extra virgin olive oil in a pan – because we're trying to keep it classy. Once it's sizzling like a summer romance, form your mixture into patties and gently lay them in like they're sunbathing on a luxurious beach. Cook for about 4 minutes on each side, or until they're browned like they've got a nice tan.

Remove these beauties from the pan, garnish with chives because we're all about that aesthetic, and serve them warm. I slapped mine on a toasted English muffin, added some melted cheese because cheese is life, a dash of hot sauce for that kick, and a side of veggies to pretend it's a balanced meal. And there you have it, homemade Tuna Patties ready in 15 minutes. Enjoy, or don't, but remember, you made this, so it's automatically gourmet.
